Practical Students - Programming Lesson By Mia Liana

Actually, this is another activity for my practical students. The one that I  really love the most. Guess what? For sure, programming part. In developing a system, programming is a must. No matter what type language you are using, the stages to do the programming is the same. If you could master one type of programming language for example Visual Basic then it would be easier for you to study and master other languages such as C, C++, Perl, PHP, ASP and so on.

Each practical student has been given a task to complete one small system. So, within these 2 weeks they are needed to finish their systems. We are using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approach. Now is the time for development part. It is not easy to teach them and I had to give some examples. The important part is how your logic thinking can be transformed into procedure of processes to simplify a certain task. Really need a lot of imagination..

Like usual the data manipulation including adding, updating and deleting data are included not to mention the navigation from one form to another form. The most crucial part is the report as it need the skill of Structured Query Language (SQL) in order to retrieve the data in a certain requirement. For example here... You need to get the sales report in weekly, monthly and yearly basis. This will involve calculation part. If your SQL is not correct, figures of your sales report might be wrong. Sounds interesting, right?

As far as I concern, hopefully this knowledge and experience may help the practical students to master the skills of programming in their future careers.
